Last night I wore my first cosplay costume. (I have dressed up as Eric Draven from Crow and Jeanette Voerman from Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines on Halloween but on those cases I didn’t actually aim for getting the outfit right or plan to wear it again somewhere else.)
Anyway, I’m not exactly sure how this idea eventually grew in my head but Edna & Harvey – The Breakout is one of my absolute favourite adventure games, I totally love purple hair and the Harvey plushie (which I ordered from Daedalic shop) so I could excuse the high prices (for my wallet). And the outfit seemed like an easy thing to start with.
Those who don’t know the game (shame on you), here’s a reference picture:
The game is awesome by the way. It’s a wonderful mixture of great comedy and some really dark psychological things. And it’s super interactive for an adventure game. Score: 10. /end minireview
I didn’t just buy all the parts for the costume. My stepsister works in a hospital and got me one of those operating room gowns. Then I sewed the gray seams in myself. I’m not really skilled with needlework but I coped. Evidence:
I didn’t have anyone else to take artistic pictures or anything like that, so I just took a few selfies. I’ll most likely wear the costume again someday and try to get some better shots then.
For some reason the wig looks almost blue in the morning light (and I’m pretty beat after being out for the night – or 13 hours to be exact).
