The sequel for Hero of the Kingdom brings more of the sameĀ – with some minor improvements – receiving the same overall score. These extremely lite RPGs are very fun and relaxing to play. Continue reading

Lately there’s been a lot of Choice of Games popping up on Steam. I’ve been eager to try out some of the most beloved titles, but as they’re purely text-based, I chose to use my mobile phone to read them while laying in bed, instead of spending yet more time sitting in front of my computer screen.
Fatehaven was my first Choice of Games title ever, and the first interactive novel since some of those Steve Jackson’s make-your-own-adventure books published in the 80s. I dove in open minded and was not disappointed. Continue reading

Hero of the Kingdom is a very lite RPGish adventure. A farmer’s son goes after his father and gathers some skills and fame on the road. The game is simple but charming, and surprisingly addictive. It’s no surprise if one decides to finish it in one sitting. Continue reading

Unfortunately I couldn’t play day and night but I did get a bit further on the main plot, and had some fun. My smoking hot cat boy got past lvl40, acquired a chocobo friendĀ and a shiny unicorn mount, ran some dungeons and hung around in a hot bath. Continue reading
Emerald City Confidential is considered a hybrid, something between a casual game and an old school point&click adventure. If one isn’t too anal about the classification, it can easily be called a casual adventure. And it’s a pretty good one too. Continue reading
I suppose pretty much everyone has heard about the sensation that is Journey. It’s a short game with very limited gameplay but it’s been received with high praises almost everywhere. And yeah, everyone is right: it is a great game. Continue reading
I’ve been writing mostly about kickstarting adventure games for a while now, but sorry, here’s another one. My limited playtime makes me prefer short demos on some nights, and all the hype I’ve recently come across happens around adventures.
But on to Memoranda itself: it’s an atmospheric 2D point & click adventure inspired by the stories of Haruki Murakami. Continue reading
